Abstract
The relationship between man and plants has been very close throughout the development of civilization. Virtually every pharmacological class of drug includes a natural product prototype. This article considers the major pharmacological strategies that have been employed recently in the discovery of biologically-active compounds of potential clinical value from medicinal plants.Keywords
