In situ formation of gold nanoparticles within functionalised ordered mesoporous silica via an organometallic ‘chimie douce’ approach

Abstract
Functionalized SBA-15 type materials containing mercaptopropyl groups have been used for controlling the growth of gold(0) nanoparticles from HAuCl4 or AuCl(THT) which were chemically complexed within the channels prior to mild chemical reduction.
