Abstract
Phase unbalance in distribution systems is a problem of great importance due to extensive construction of single phase solar generators which are called micro Feed in Tariff (microFITs). The problem is complicated further due to the wide spread use of single phase loads. This paper addresses the phase balancing problem of the connection of large number of microFITs and single phase loads to the three phase distribution systems. Besides, an optimization problem is formulated in order to minimize the current unbalance of the distribution system. A detailed analysis is completed on the IEEE 37 bus system in order to validate the proposed algorithm. Keywords
