Abstract
Safe, successful swallowing depends on complex events affected by head and neck cancers and their treatment. This article reviews the swallowing process, how it is affected by chemoradiotherapy, and the evaluation, prevention, and treatment of swallowing disorders. Specific recommendations are made to promote maintenance and recovery of swallowing function.Keywords
