Abstract
DURING my stay in Hong Kong I observed several dozen cystic formations of the auricle which I took at first for sebaceous cysts, and to which, for a long time, I paid no special attention. Only gradually did I come to the conviction that we had to deal with a "cyst" the etiology of which, as far as I can ascertain, is unknown. I collected 13 cases during the last few years for this preliminary report, in the hope that it will encourage further studies. All the cases I saw were in young or middle aged healthy male Chinese. I have never seen a single case in a woman or in a child, nor do I remember having seen one in an elderly patient. The pseudocysts had typical localization, history, content, histological finding, and they ran a typical course. They were localized in the upper half of the anterior side
