Workplace Deviance: A Systematic Literature Review and Future Agenda

Abstract
Workplace deviance despite being a prominently studied dysfunctional behavior has lacked a synthesis of the field altogether. In order to fill this gap, the present study has attempted to club together a literature on workplace deviance to provide a way forward. For this, we systematically reviewed 269 articles. The results of the review highlighted that individual-level, group-level, and organizational-level factors push individuals toward workplace deviance. Results of the review also outlined various research gaps and opportunities such as the need to examine unexplored theoretical lenses, explore empirical and methodological advancements, and analyze missing intervening mechanism and boundary conditions. Interestingly, less studies address the consequences of WD, therefore an emphasis to inspect them in future is also raised."
