Abstract
This research seeks to explain the dimensions and causes of reverse migration took place Köprücük village in Varto-Muş. Research carried out by the method of interview. The research data were obtained from interviews with 36 people. 14 paticipants in 1966, 4 paticipants in 1985 and 5 paticipants in 1995 emigrated to the cities. The results show that the avarage of age of participants is high in our research about remigration made by the method of structured interview. The date of birth varies between 1929 – 1972. The number of participants born between 1950 – 1969 is higher (18 people). Today they are generally between the ages of 50 – 60. Almost all of them (35 people) were born in village. 83,3% of the participants are male while 16,7% of the participants are female. Most of the participants (28 people) are married. Their educational level is low. 24 people are elementary school graduates. 3 people are illiterate. 3 people are high school graduates and 3 people are university graduates. A good number of them are retired (25 retired, 5 housewives, 4 workers, 4 self-employed, 2 farmers). Participants often migrated to Adana (12 person), Ankara (7 person), Istanbul (5 person) and Berlin (4 person). Earthquake and unemployment (Total 30 Person) major cause of migration. Where participants have migrated mainly textile, construction and worked as a worker in the municipality. Participants (26 person) attended to reverse migration more than from after 2005. Retirement (25 person) is the biggest cause of reverse migration. Generally, they go with the normal migration of the cities participated in the reverse migration. It is hoped that this study is to contribute to research on the reverse migration.
