Silicate anions formed in tetramethylammonium silicate methanolic solutions as studied by 29Si nuclear magnetic resonance

Abstract
The Si8O20 8– silicate anion is selectively formed in tetramethylammonium silicate methanolic solution from the SiO4 4– silicate anion or at the expense of Si6O15 6– and highly cross-linked polymeric silicate anions which are once formed.
