Abstract
A proteolytic enzyme produced by the fish pathogen Aeromonas salmonicida was isolated and purified. It showed the following characteristics: temperature optimum at 48 degrees C, pH optimum at pH 9 and a molecular weight of 87500. The enzyme was inhibited by phenylmethanesulphonylfluoride (PMSF) indicating it to be a serine protease. Keywords
