Abstract
A survey was conducted of marketing academicians. In it, an attempt was made to determine whether the components of the teaching profession (i.e., research, teaching, and service) are important predictors of income. The results indicate that publishing is most likely to produce the greatest income rewards, not teaching, and certainly not service. Keywords
