THE development of recurrent Crohn's disease after an intestinal resection has been estimated to occur in 3 per cent1 to 100 per cent2 of patients. This variation is associated with many factors, among which are the precise definition of recurrence, the location of the disease, and the methods of follow-up and data analysis.
