Abstract
Tissue culture populations derived from day-old rat liver differ markedly in antigenic structure from day-old liver, and freshly prepared liver inocula are prevented from initiating culture growth by pretreatment with kidney tissue culture antiserum which has been absorbed with liver. The growth potential of liver inocula is unaffected by anti-liver antiserum containing antibodies against liver. Liver cultures possess sharply reduced ornithine transcarbamy-lase activity and serum albumin content. Keywords
