The receptor for transepithelial transport of IgA and IgM contains multiple immunoglobulin-like domains

Abstract
CDNA [complementary DNA] was cloned and sequenced for the receptor [from rabbit liver and mammary gland] that mediates the endocytosis and transcellular transport of IgA and IgM across many glandular epithelia into external secretions. This receptor contains 5 extracellular domains which are strikingly homologous to each other and to Ig variable regions.
