Challenges in the Identification of Cobalamin-Deficiency Polyneuropathy

Abstract
ALTHOUGH polyneuropathy (PN) is an established complication of deficiency of cobalamin (Cbl) (vitamin B12),1 there are a number of uncertainties surrounding the PN of Cbl deficiency. For example, it is controversial whether PN can present in the absence of myelopathy.1-4 Also uncertain is the optimal laboratory approach to the diagnosis of Cbl deficiency.
