Abstract
In the early seventies much work was done in order to understand the propagation loss of UHF waves in rectangular mine tunnels, using either waveguide methods or image techniques based on geometrical optics (GO). A simple and accurate model is needed for planning the deployment of mobile phone networks. The method presented a simple GO extension to the standard hybrid waveguide solution. Keywords
