Abstract
This paper presents the development of an embedded architecture for a safety steer-by-wire system using a Flexray-based ECU network. The paper discusses the system architecture, redundancy of ECUs, sensors, actuators and their implementation. Safety keys are also addressed by considering hardware and software failures. First, the system is validated by simulation and then a partial implementation of the system is performed on a rapid control prototyping system for real tests.Keywords
