Abstract
Attention is called to the existence of changes in the position of the cervical spinal cord dependent on the position of the body. The method of measuring the extent of these shifts is described. In the group of 120 “normal” individuals the extent of the movements of the spinal cord was measured. The relations of these shifts to the different spinal segments, to the antero-posterior diameter of the spinal canal and to the changes in the shape of the cervical spine are discussed.
