Abstract
Up to now the synthesis of para-substituted phenyl-terpyridine ligands was difficult with respect to the purification of the reaction products. We have found that these compounds can easily be isolated as hydrobromides from acetic acid. Starting from the hydrobromides the purification turned out to be easy. Synthesis of para-substituted Cl-, Br-, H3C-, H2BrC-, HO- 2,6-Bis(2-pyridyl)-4-phenylphyridine is reported. Keywords
