Abstract
Radio frequency identification (RFID) channel is with deeper small-scale fades than a traditional one-way wireless channel. This paper presents a new signaling scheme based on space-time block coding (STBC) for multiple-antenna RF tags. Simulation results of 1×2×1 and 2 × 2 × 2 RFID channels, when considering various values of link correlation coefficient between the forward and backscatter links, suggest that further diversity gain can be achieved by the proposed STBC-based signaling scheme for multi-antenna RF tag when compared with the identical signaling scheme. Keywords
