For the radiation force acting on a small bubble in a liquid medium in the presence of a plane standing sound wave, there has been a longstanding discrepancy between the prediction of Yosioka and Kawasima [Acustica 5, 167–173 (1955)], and that of Eller [J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 4 3, 170–171 (1968)]. It is concluded that the two predictions are consistent if not for some algebraic mistake in the former work.
