Abstract
This article reviews the results of empirical studies aimed at improving methods of teaching biology in German schools – different teaching models are compared and their effectiveness is evaluated. The results of four of these studies will be considered in detail, including the effectiveness of laboratory work, fieldwork, use of living invertebrates, and the use of films.Keywords
