Abstract
The total synthesis of cruentaren A, a biologically active resorcylate natural product, is reported. The aromatic unit was constructed via late-stage cyclization and aromatization from a diketodioxinone intermediate and macrocyclization using Fürstner ring-closing alkyne metathesis. Keywords
