Abstract

THE PROVISION of early, appropriate resuscitation improves the outcome for the patient in cardiac or respiratory arrest.¹ Effective cardiopulmonary resuscitation requires the physician to apply detailed cognitive information and to perform technical skills. Thus, physicians who participate in inpatient resuscitations, including residents, are expected to have a ready fund of the requisite knowledge and skills.
