Abstract
The composition of leaf oil of Myrtus communis L., grown in Greece was investigated by using GC/MS analysis. Twenty-one compounds were identified. The oil was found to be rich in α-pinene (18.0%), limonene (21.8%), linalyl acetate (31.4%) and geranyl acetate (6.5%). Minor compounds were: α-humulene (3.7%), β-caryophyllene (1,5%), neryl acetate (1.2%) and linalool (1.1%).Keywords
