ZP3effects in the ionization of helium by ion impact

Abstract
The continuum-distorted-waveeikonal-initial-state model is used to study single ionization of helium by proton, antiproton, and multiply-charged bare ions (He2+, Li3+) impact. Total cross sections are calculated and compared with experimental data. Comparison with calculations using the first Born approximation show that binding and polarization effects are intrinsically taken into account.
