Abstract
Antigenic variation and sequestration in organ capillary systems are two of the ways by which malaria parasites escape immune effector mechanisms. Here Marcel Hommel discusses the presence of variant antigens and endothelial-binding molecules on the surface of infected erythrocytes in the context of malaria immunity. Keywords
