Zytostatische Kombinationsbehandlung metastasierender Schilddrüsenkarzinome mit Doxorubicin und Bleomycin

Abstract

Die Wirksamkeit einer zytostatischen Kombinationstherapie mit Doxorubicin (Adriamycin^®) und Bleomycin wurde bei 21 Patienten mit metastasierenden Schilddrüsenkarzinomen geprüft, die chirurgisch und strahlentherapeutisch ausbehandelt und weiter progredient waren. Tumorhistologie (50% anaplastische Karzinome), Alter und Allgemeinzustand der Patienten sprachen in allen Fällen für eine schlechte Prognose. Signifikante Erfolge im Sinne von Voll- und Teilremissionen wurden bei acht Patienten beobachtet. Diese Ergebnisse können möglicherweise verbessert werden, wenn die Chemotherapie frühzeitiger begonnen wird und für die Therapieversager andere Zytostatika verwendet werden. The effectiveness of combined cytostatic treatment with doxorubicin and bleomycin was analysed in 21 patients with metastasising thyroid carcinoma which had progressed despite both surgical and radiotherapy. Tumour histology (anaplastic carcinoma in 50%), age and general condition of all patients pointed to a poor prognosis. Significant success (full or partial remission) occurred in eight patients. It is possible that these results can be improved if chemotherapy is started earlier and other cytostatic drugs are used in case of failure of treatment.
