U(3)×U(3)Symmetry of Strong and Weak Interactions

Abstract

Many results obtained by the $\mathrm{SU}\left(6\right)\mathrm{}$ symmetry model are shown to be obtained by the $U\left(3\right)\mathrm{}\times U\left(3\right)\mathrm{}$ symmetry model if we assume that the octet baryon belongs to the (6*, 3) and (3, 6*) representation along with a yet-to-be-discovered decuplet of spin-${\mathrm{½}}^{-}$ particles, though we cannot combine particles of different spin in this model.
