Twenty-five acridone alkaloids from
Citrus
plants were examined for their inhibitory effects on Epstein-Barr virus activation by a short-term
in vitro
assay. 5-Hydroxynoracronycine (

) and acrimarine-F (

) showed remarkable inhibitory effects.
