Fat Intake After Diagnosis and Risk of Lethal Prostate Cancer and All-Cause Mortality

Abstract
Nearly 2.5 million men currently live with prostate cancer in the United States, and more than 241 000 cases were diagnosed in 2012.1 Dietary fat has been extensively studied in relation to incident prostate cancer, with mixed results.2-7 Studies of advanced disease have more consistent findings than those examining total prostate cancer, suggesting that fat intake may be relevant to disease progression,8 but little is known about postdiagnostic fat intake and prostate cancer progression or overall survival.
