Improved estimates of the indexed rate of oxygen consumption (V̇O2/BSA) are provided for use in calculating haemodynamic quantities in cardiac catheterization. They were derived from a multivariate analysis of covariance applied to 879 patients, mostly children, with a wide variety of heart diseases.
