Abstract
N-Arylation of benzoazoles with diaryliodonium salts can be performed in good yields in the room-temperature ionic liquid 1–butyl–3–methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate ([bmim]BF4), which provides an efficient method for the synthesis of N-arylbenzoazoles. The ionic liquid can be recycled and reused. Keywords
