Abstract
Learning motivation plays an important role in college English teaching. This paper attempts to explore the application of information technology in order to solve the currently existing problem found by doing the questionnaire. Based on the theoretical explanation of the connotation and classification of learning motivation as well as the analysis of its affecting factors, two approaches have been proved effective. On one hand, making authentic learning situation by means of information technology helps to stimulate students' integrative motivation; on the other hand, emphasizing goal-driven learning approach through information technology is good to develop students' instrumental motivation. In a word, cultivating college English learning motivation by the application of information technology is of great significance to the field of college English education.
