Abstract
A facile three step synthesis of 3-aryl-2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropanecarboxylates, intermediates for pyrethroid acaricides, involving formation of arylidene phenylsulfonylacetate, MIRC reaction of the latter with potassium 2-nitropropane and desulfonylation of the cyclopropane intermediate with sodium amalgam in fair overall yield is described. Keywords
