Abstract
Two 15-week growth experiments on 15,000 juvenile (0.7–1.0 g) blue shrimp (Penaeus stylirostris) were conducted in five 30-m2 floating cages (3,000 juveniles/cage) in an estuary near Kino, Sonora, Mexico, during spring and fall 1981. At the spring harvest, individual shrimp weight, percent survival, and yield averaged (±SD) 5.65 ± 0.20 g, 31.84 ± 3.07%, and 201.8 ± 18.3 g!m2, respectively. At the fall harvest, individual weight, percent survival, and yield were 8.34 ± 0.21 g, 45.28 ± 3.35%, and 441.3 ± 25.5 g/m2, respectively. The mean spring temperature was 22.3°C and the mean fall temperature was 25°C.This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
