Abstract
Genomics enables recombinant DNA methods to be used for domestication of crops in ways that resemble conventional breeding. The author of this Policy Forum looks ahead to genomics-guided transgene modifications in agriculture. However, regulations for needed field trials are becoming increasingly onerous in many parts of the world, impeding delivery of public benefits from the genomics revolution in agriculture.Keywords
