Abstract

Kathleen woodward, Professor of English and Director of the Center for Twentieth Century Studies at the University of Wisconsin,Milwaukee, is the Chair of the Consortium of Humanities Centers and Institutes. She is the author of Aging and Its Discontents: Freud and Other Fictions (Indiana University Press, 1991) and the editor ofFiguring Age: Women, Bodies, Generations (Indiana University Press,1999). She is currently working on a book entitled “Circulating Anger and Other Feelings: The Cultural Politics of the Emotions.”
