Abstract
Simultaneous measurements of inulin clearance by infusion and clearance from of 51Cr-EDTA after single injection were performed in 17 subjects. 51Cr-EDTA-clearance was calculated as the ratio between plasma volume and the area under the plasma curve from t = o to infinity. Urine collection is not needed. Whole-body counting showed 4.5% retention after 72 hours. The use of 51Cr-EDTA clearance for deteermination of GFR is justisfied in view of the close correspondence between inulin clearance and plasma clearance of 51Cr-EDTA.Keywords
