Abstract
Floquet's theorem and a corresponding perturbation theory are derived for Hamiltonians periodic in time. The resulting theory is then applied to the interaction of stationary and moving, neutral two-level atomic or molecular systems with monochromatic linearly and circularly polarized electromagnetic radiation.Keywords
