Abstract
It has been demonstrated that administration of hepcidin or stimulation of its expression can improve iron overload (IO) by decreasing iron absorption. In this study of a murine model of β-thalassemia intermedia, Kautz et al. showed that they could reduce hepcidin suppression by inhibition of erythroferrone.
