This report is an update of the original state-of-the-art report published in the March–April and May–June 1997 issues of the PCI Journal. The purpose of this report is to present to the architect, engineer, contractor, precast/prestressed concrete producer, and owner the current [2011] North American practices concerning uses, design, detailing, manufacturing, and thermal performance of sandwich panels. An additional purpose is to share experience gained over the past decades for the benefit of specifiers, suppliers, and users.
