Failure of Hypophyseal Growth Hormone to Produce Nitrogen Storage in a Girl with Hypophyseal Dwarfism*†

Abstract
During 2 different metabolic balance periods, each of about 3 weeks'' duration, electrophoretically homogeneous hypophyseal growth hormone in doses varying from 10-160 mg./day was administered to a 16.5-yr.-old girl with hypophyseal dwarfism and a bone age of 13 yrs. No consistent effects on Ca, P, or N balance were observed. Attempts to demonstrate the presence of antibodies to growth hormone or anti-growth hormone effects of the patients serum were unsuccessful.
