Abstract
It is populated that Bruggeman's symmetric and asymmetric effective-media theories describe the two extreme behaviours of metal-insulator mixtures. A single equation which interpolates between these two extremes, in two and three dimensions, is proposed. It involves a single parameter, probably a fractal dimension, which is determined by the composition at which the metal-insulator transition occurs. Excellent agreement is found with experimental and computer simulation data. Keywords
