Abstract
Depression is common among people living with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/AIDS. In a nationally representative probability sample of adults receiving care for HIV in the United States, the 12-month prevalence of major depressive disorder according to the Composite International Diagnostic Interview Short Form was 36%.1 This finding exceeds the 5% to 7% 12-month prevalence of major depressive disorder in the general population.2-4Keywords
