Abstract
The electronic excitation cross-sections of the N 2 + first negative system, the O 2 + first negative system and two band systems of C O 2 + were obtained for the electron energy in the range of 80 eV to 1500 eV. The intensity distributions in these molecular band systems were determined under the same conditions. The relative vibrational transition strengths of these band systems and the relative Franck-Condon factors for ionization of these molecules were found to be in essential agreement with theoretical ones given by Bates, by Nicholls and by Wacks. The ratios of the excitation cross-sections to the ionization cross-sections are 2.5% ( N 2 + 3914 Å), 0.72% ( N 2 + 4278 Å), 0.14% ( N 2 + 4709 A), 0.3% ( O 2 + 6026.4Å), 0.4% ( O 2 + 5631.9 Å), 0.2% ( O 2 + 5973.4Å), 1.2% ( C O 2 + 2896 Å), 0.4% ( C O 2 + 3247 Å) and 0.4% ( C O 2 + 3254 Å) respectively, which are independent of the electron energy m the energy range concerned.Keywords
