Abstract
A recurring problem in polymer chemistry is the dependence of functional group reactivities on the reacted-or-unreacted status of neighboring groups. This problem has been attacked by means of a closed-loop model and an infinite-chain model. For the latter model, an approximate solution has been developed for the general case, and an exact solution has been shown for the speical case where k1=k2.Keywords
