Abstract
Fifteen commercially available surgical masks were evaluated for efficacy in protecting dental personnel from bacterial aerosols generated from a patient's mouth. The filtering efficiency of masks tested varied from 14 to 99%. Two masks tested under wearing conditions showed no significant marginal leakage.
