Hard-x-ray radiation from short-pulse laser-produced plasmas

Abstract
The generation of hard‐x‐ray radiation (ℏω≥25 keV) from short‐pulse Ti:sapphire laser‐produced plasmas is studied. Solid targets are irradiated by 0.2–10 ps laser pulses in the intensity range of 5×1013−5×1016 W/cm2. It is shown that the measured dose rates obey a simple scaling law.
