Abstract
Green's function of a parallel-plate waveguide having a tapered inter-wall distance is determined rigorously. In order to evaluate the field response, the discontinuous waveguide structure is assumed to be excited by an elementary linear current source. The knowledge of Green's function allows the solution to a class of scattering problems with inclined walls incorporating dielectric or conducting additional inhomogeneities used in electromagnetic compatibility measurements. The analytical method used for the computation of Green's function is augmented by a numerical matrix inversion that exhibits high numerical stability. Several cases are examined, and the corresponding field variations are shownKeywords
