HAeMODYNAMIC EFFECTS OF OXYGEN IN PATIENTS WITH ACUTE MYOCARDIAL INFARCTION

Abstract
The hemodynamic changes following the administration of O2 to patients with acute myocardial infarction have been studied. Measurements of cardiac output ard brachial arterial pressure were made. Breathing 40% O2 usually results in a rise of systemic blood pressure and a fall in cardiac output. The possible mechanisms and clinical implications are discussed.
